Academic calendar

The academic year is twelve months in duration; the beginning date of the academic year is determined by the Rector.
The academic year is divided into winter and summer semesters; each semester consists of a study and an examination period, and holidays. The length of each period is determined by the academic year schedule which consists of the academic year schedule of TUL and the academic year schedules of the faculties or the institute.
The academic year schedule is followed by IS STAG.
In the academic year schedule of TUL the Rector sets the beginning and the end of instruction in individual semesters, the beginning and the end of exam periods of individual semesters, the beginning and the end of holidays, terms of state final exams and of graduation ceremonies.
The academic year schedule of a faculty or institute includes mainly terms of registration for individual types, forms or years of study, the organization of the last semester of studies with regard to the terms of state final exams.

The academic year 2011/2012 begins on 1. 9. 2011.
Winter semester classes begin on 26. 9. 2011
Summer semester classes begin on 13. 2. 2012
Each semester consists of 14 weeks of classes and is followed by an examination period.
