General Registration Procedures

General registration procedure for degree programme students

Criteria for acceptance into the study programmes and admission procedure principles are specified in § 48 to § 50 and Section 4 of the Statute TUL. Rules for entrance examinations are specified in Article 7 of the Statute TUL. Applicants for study programmes carried out by TUL are admitted to studies upon the admission procedure and the admission committee recommendation by the rector of TUL, applicants for study programmes carried out by faculties the dean of the respective faculty.
For study programmes implemented at the faculties, the regulations for the admission procedure and the conditions for acceptance to study are set forth in the directives issued for each academic year; and, for study programmes implemented at the university, in the directives of the university as issued for each academic year.  Student applies for study through electronic application or sends paper application. Faculty invites him/her for an entrance exam or interview. The result of the exam is given in the form of Decision of admission or non-admission.
A student who has been enrolled in a study programme can be registered for the first academic year or semester. A student makes his preliminary personal study plan for the following academic year from the standard study plan by means of pre-registration, i.e. registration for particular subjects in the following academic year.

General registration procedure for exchange students

Exchange students are registered electronically to the university Information System STAG upon their admission, a full record on the student including personal and contacting details and study evidence is inserted to the IS STAG  by the responsible officer at the Department for International Relations, Science and Research or the Office for international Relations at the faculty level.

The main document is Learning Agreement, whose part is study plan of foreign study made by student in cooperation with faculty coordinator before leaving. The Learning Agreement is signed by student, faculty coordinator and the target university before leaving to abroad, which makes the agreement valid and binding.
On the basis of the record about approval of subjects the department of studies notes the student's foreign study stay, approved subjects and credits gained into IS STAG.
The department of studies also notes students' foreign work stays and other foreign study stays into IS STAG on the basis of verification from foreign institutions.
Each student has to meet the faculty coordinator and to register at the Students Office of his own faculty.
