After their arrival to the Czech republic, international students must be examined by a Czech physician to prove their ability to study in the Czech Republic. All international students are required to have the health insurance either with an insurance company in their home country or with the general Health Insurance Company in the Czech Republic ( at the cost of approx. USD 30 per month). This insurance covers all standard treatment.

It is strongly recommended that international students arrange for the health insurance coverage in their home country for the period of their studies in the Czech Republic before their arrival to the Czech Republic.
Students from non EU countries should have supplementary travel health insurance (THI).

It is essentials to have an European health insurance card which simplifies the access to the health system of the country visited.

In rare cases, a student may be requested by the physician to pay for the treatment that will be reimbursed by their home insurance.
