Information about advisory, support and assistential services  on Technical University of Liberec



ACADEMIC ADVISORY BOARD FOR ENABLING HIGH EDUCATION TO HANDICAPPED PEOPLE – advisory and consultational services provided:

• advisory about studying and information about studying possibilities on TU in Liberec or other univeristy in ČR,
• pedagogical, psychological and sociopsychological advisory,
• consultations in case of health or social complications of studies,
• basic social and jural consultations and information about competences of institutions working in social area,
• profession and career advisory, help in area of efective self-presentation,
• diagnoses and advisory on the field of special pedagogy and psychology,
• assemblage, design and realisation of individual educational strategies,
• arrangement of social and health care, personal assistance and other supporting services for students with special demands,
• processing ofrecommendations to applications for studying or to the process of entrance examinations,
• designing individual and soft study plans,
• consultations on the field of framing and realisation of services of personal assistance, volunteership and other humanitarian activities,

For the handicapped applicants we STRONGLY RECOMMEND to send the application forms via the Academic advisory board at adress : TU of Liberec.

SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE SERVICES FOR STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS:

SPECIAL STUDYROOM

• the equipment enabling the students with sensual or physical handicap to work with texts includes: TV magnification glass for students with optical handicap, PC with special keyboard for physically handicapped students, special scanning programs, PC for students with optical handicap and PC equipped with program „My Voice“ enabling to control the  PC only by means of one's voice, and other ICT equipment.
• studyroom also has continuously complemented scale of study materials converted to sound or visual formats on Cds.

PERSONAL ASSISTANCE, or even ACCOMODATION FOR PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED

• services of personal assistance for students with heavy functional handicap, who need assistance or support in some actions – movement and orientation in TUL area, self-operation, guiding, supplying of casual matters dealing with studying and live at TUL, assistance with studying (taking notes during the lectures, etc.);
• lending or using of chosen compensational and locomotional aids;
• accomodation in building „H“, specially modified for handicapped inhabitants, in the very centre of Liberec, in which is also eg. University library, special studyroom, dean's offices of pedagogical and economical faculties, classrooms, ICT workplace , workrooms of some of the teachers and a students' hall with a canteen.
