We provide the training of future teachers in educational theory and psychology in the study programs Preschool Education, Primary Education, Lower-Secondary Education and Upper-Secondary Education. Our educational activities have recently broadened in the field of education for non-teachers with a new study program in Educational Sciences.
We also cooperate with the Center for Practical Training in providing and further developing a conception of educational practice based on the trainees’ reflection and self-reflection, and with the Department of Primary Education in the teaching of the study programs Primary Education and Preschool Education. Our aim is to achieve a modern and innovative education of teachers which is based on theoretical insights into the process of education and upbringing, to make students understand the process of teaching in a way that takes into consideration the individual and social specificities of the pupils and their broader sociocultural and social contexts. At the same time, we also aim to make students of teacher-training programs and other programs of education able to recognize these processes and problems in their own practice in education, empowering them to act in accordance with them.
