Educational goals

The study is conceived as a theoretical-practical whole in which students acquire the available knowledge of contemporary emergency medicine, intensive and resuscitation care and the possibility of their effective use in practice. The study programme is complemented and expanded with knowledge of new processes and modern technologies in the field. Particular importance is attached to a comprehensive approach in other ways, namely a holistic, holistic approach and the ability to assess a patient’s health problems in the broad context of their life.

Profile of the graduate

A graduate demonstrates knowledge without professional supervision and without indication to the extent of his professional competence. Provides healthcare in accordance with legislation and standards, ensures compliance with the hygiene-epidemiological regime in accordance with legislation governing the protection of public health, makes entries in medical records and other documentation resulting from other legislation, works with the health service provider’s information system, provides information to the patient in accordance with his professional competence, where appropriate, instructions from a doctor, dentist, pharmacist, clinical psychologist or clinical logo Participates in practical teaching in fields of study to gain fitness for the health profession, participates in the preparation of standards, motivates and educates individuals, families and groups of persons to adopt healthy lifestyles and take care of themselves, participates in ensuring the inclusion of new health professionals, implements measures to deal with the consequences of an emergency or crisis situation. The graduate performs activities without professional supervision and without indication in the context of specific nursing care in the provision of pre-hospital emergency care, as well as in the provision of acute in-patient care, including in-patient care. Graduate monitors and evaluates vital functions (including electrocardiographic recording), continuously monitors and evaluates rhythm disturbances, investigates and monitors pulse oxymeter, initiates and performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation using hand-held recovery bags, including heart defibrillation by electrical discharge after recording of electrocardiogram, provides peripheral venous or intrase Establishes and maintains inhalation and oxygen therapy.

Admission procedure

Acceptance to the full-time form of a bachelor’s degree programme is subject to secondary education attainment with a final examination, or to completion of a written examination verifying the knowledge and skills of a secondary education course required for study, physical fitness tests. Candidates may be excused from the entrance examination if they fulfil the FZS TUL’s stated conditions (e.g. long-term excellent secondary education, successful participation in secondary vocational activities in the field). Foreigners can study in a study programme after fulfilling the requirements imposed on them by Czech legislation and international treaties.
