How to Become a True Ambassador for RUN-EU – 3rd Edition

A Look Back: Our Students as RUN-EU Ambassadors

Last autumn, two of our students represented TUL in a SAP programme (a Short Intensive Programme combining online and in-person learning) entitled “How to Become a True Ambassador for RUN-EU” – 3rd Edition!

The event was jointly coordinated by NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences (NHL Stenden) and the Polytechnic University of Cávado and Ave (IPCA). The programme was designed for students within
the RUN-EU alliance who wish to take an active role in the communication and promotion of this international university network.

The programme was structured into several stages:

  • Initial Online Phase: Participants were introduced to the programme’s objectives, the role of an ambassador, and the fundamental principles of communication within the RUN-EU alliance.
  • In-person Mobility: During this physical component abroad, students collaborated intensively in international teams, developing practical skills and working on specific deliverables.
  • Follow-up Online Phase: The final stage focused on completing projects, reflecting on the experience gained, and sharing these insights further.

Throughout the activity, participants focused on developing skills in leadership, intercultural communication, and representing the values of RUN-EU. Students engaged in practical tasks, such as creating social media
campaigns and podcasts, which helped enhance the alliance’s visibility and showcase diverse student experiences.

A key element of the programme was the search for a “RUN-EU identity” within each participant. During the course, our students refined their communication and presentation skills and were motivated to step
out of their comfort zones to spread awareness of RUN-EU in both their academic and personal circles.

The programme ran from 16 October to 2 December 2025, was conducted in English, and was awarded 3 ECTS credits. Academic recognition was governed by the regulations of the respective home institutions.
Our students’ participation has contributed to strengthening international cooperation and the visibility of the RUN-EU alliance at our university.
